Selleys Liquid Nails Clear

Do not swallow. Use in a well ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Pierce foil seal before inserting into caulking gun.

1. Ensure surfaces are free from oil, grease and dust. Wipe off any pooled water from wet timber.
   
2. Cut cartridge tip and pierce membrane. Fit nozzle and cut to desired opening (5mm) then insert into caulking gun.
   
3. Apply bead along length of one bonding surface. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40cm.
   
4. Position pieces and press firmly together. Immediately fix with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load and achieve contact over total bond area. Repositionable for up to 20 minutes after fitting.
   
5. Allow adhesive to set (minimum 24-48 hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping. Use with mechanical fasteners in high stress applications.

Contact Bond Method
For immediate bond use contact bond method, apply to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Allow surfaces to dry 2-3 minutes, before firmly joining.

Limitations:

• Avoid use in tightly clamped joints eg. Cabinet making or joinery
  
• Not for use on mirrors. Use Liquid Nails® Mirror Metal & Glass
  
• Not for metals heated by direct sunlight. Bonds weaken at higher temperatures. Use Liquid Nails® Mirror Metal & Glass
  
• Not for Styrene Foam. Use Liquid Nails® Fast Grab
  
• For sheet timber flooring to flat surfaces Liquid Nails® High Strength is recommended.
  
• Do not use as the sole bonding agent for structural bonding.
  
• Not for permanent water immersion.
  
• Not suitable for use for polyethylene, polypropylene or teflon. 

• Faster results are achieved when at least one surface is porous.
  
• Liquid Nails Clear should always be used in conjuction with mechanical fasteners in structural, critical or high stress applications.
  
• Usually a strong bond is achieved in 24 to 48 hours and continues to strengthen over 2 to 3 days. Cures in 14 days. Expect longer times for thicker applications, less porous surfaces and in cold weather
  
• *Pre test plastics to determine compatibility
  
• Adheres to wet/poor seasoned timber.
• Can be painted with water based paints after 24 hours
  
• When applying to one surface, ensure sufficient Liquid Nails is used so that some adhesive extrudes out when surfaces are brought together then wipe off excess if necessary. If glue is not visible, then insufficient contact may not have been made between the surfaces and a weak joint may result.
  
• Liquid Nails Clear shrinks slightly on curing.
  
• Good ventilation is recommended during both application and curing of Liquid Nails Clear.
  

• Uncured product may be removed with mineral turps.
• Cured product can be removed by scraping or sanding.
