Is there a sealant to stop fuel leaks?

I have a lawn edger that is leaking fuel where the fuel hose meets the fuel tank. Is there a sealant that could fix this?

If the leak is from the hose where it fits over the outlet nipple it may be best to replace the hose as they become brittle and loose over time when in contact with fuel. If the leak is where the fitting seats into the tank then we do not have anything which will adhere to the plastics and seal the fitting.Unfortunately these fitting and the tanks are often made of plastics which can not be readily glued such as polyethylene or polypropylene.
