- Surface must be clean, dry and free from dirt, dust and grease.
- Cut tip off cartridge and cut nozzle. Fit nozzle to cartridge. Place cartridge into caulking gun such as Selleys Light Speed Caulking gun.
- Apply with caulking gun, forcing product into joint.
- For a smooth finish tool with a spatula. Wipe away excess with a damp cloth.
- Allow sealant to cure for the specified time and paint over with oil or water based paint.
- Sealant will normally cure in 24 hours and strengthen over 7 days (longer in cold or damp conditions). At this point excess sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade, but avoid under cutting the seal.
Limitations:
- *Paintable with gloss, semi gloss and low sheen paints in an hour. Allow longer drying times before painting with flat or ceiling paints in cooler weather
- #Not for use on polyethylene, polypropylene or Teflon. Pre-test plastics before use.
- May be discoloured by contact with alloys containing brass, copper or zinc.
- Do not allow unused product to freeze.
- Do not place in permanently damp locations or in areas submerged in water.
- Not suitable for use on oily woods such as cypress, teak or cedar.
- When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of sealant.
- For a cleaner appearance mask both sides of the joint prior to filling. Remove tape before products skins.
- Work in sections that can be completed before sealant skins. Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs or a rough surface may result so working in sections allows for a better finish.
- To avoid paint cracking apply at temperatures above 10°C and do not apply paint too thick.
- In exterior applications, protect from rain until firmly skinned.
- Uncured product may be removed with water.
- Cured product can be removed by sanding and scraping.
